Galley

A JATO capability · also standalone

Galley

A graded report for a single story — where it’s strong, where it’s losing readers, and the fix.

You know what a page-speed report looks like: a grade, a list of what’s wrong, and exactly how to fix it. Galley does that for a story. Take a piece — published or in draft — for a grade, the diagnostics behind it (merit, structure, distribution-fit, framing), the why for each, and the fix. Apply it; re-score.

Not a style checker. A read on whether the story is built to reach the readers it deserves.

A Galley graded story report — overall grade, per-lever diagnostics, and the fix for each.
A Galley report: grade → diagnostics → why → fix.

Standalone, or part of JATO

Take Galley on its own — a report card for any story, any desk. It’s also a JATO capability: the same scoring that powers The Audit at the outlet level, here at the story level.
